Beat The Devil's Tattoo.

I promise this will be the last BRMC post in quite some time. But today is the day! Finally, Beat The Devil's Tattoo has landed, and the first couple of listenings indicates that it's a very solid effort. The title tune does not only have the job of being the title tune, it's also the album opener and the lead single. And, well, it's good, but it's not absolutely brilliant, and in my opinion, it doesn't rank among the strongest tunes here. Songs that do are the amazing garage-popper Bad Blood, the old but catchy Evol and psych-rocker Shadow's Keeper. Most of the time, BRMC rock out with their cocks out (even though female drummer Leah Shapiro has joined the band and does a very fine job), but the acoustic direction they took on Howl is still present on The Toll and Sweet Feeling.

Cheers!
